It’s a no-brainer: fear and respect don’t mix. Sure, kids may be scared of their parents, but that doesn’t mean they’ll respect them. Respect has to be earned through trust and understanding. So, forget the old-school notion that if you scare your kids into submission, they’ll automatically show you respect - it just ain’t gonna happen!
